The Fenghuang
historically was two separate birds, the male Feng and the female Huang. Over its history however, they have seemingly morphed into one being: the Fenghuang. Now it is used as a symbol of virtue, duty, credibility, propriety, and mercy and is commonly hung in weddings alongside the Chinese dragon to bring about a successful marriage. The unification of the Feng and Huang represents the unification of the Chinese concepts of Yin and Yang. Therefore, in the Fenghuang suite we have similarly attempted to find the balance and positivity that is viscerally present in the history of the dynamic creature.
